La ristrutturazione ha riguardato la sostituzione delle porte e degli infissi, il rifacimento del pavimento del corridoio principale, il rifacimento degli impianti elettrici, idrici, di rilevazione incendio, i cablaggi per i dati e infine la sostituzione completa degli arredi e della strumentazione scientifica.
Questo intervento si inserisce in una serie di interventi di revamping (iniziati già da qualche anno), che stanno riguardando la stazione di Mario Zucchelli, in attività oramai da 36 anni e dunque bisognosa di sempre maggiore attenzione per poter restare al passo con i tempi.
Oltre al rifacimento dei laboratori, l’edificio principale della Stazione è stato interessato anche dai lavori di ammodernamento delle camere delle zona notte, con il rifacimento completo degli interni, infissi, impianti e la sostituzione degli arredi, e dai lavori di ampliamento della mensa e delle aree di ristoro.
