Oggi si è conclusa la missione dei tecnici ENEA impegnati a bordo della nave rompighiaccio Laura Bassi, per collaborare con OGS all’allestimento per le prossime campagne nel Mediterraneo, Artico e Antartide.
La nave, rientrata in Italia il 29 marzo dalla campagna antartica 2020-2021, si trova presso l’Arsenale di Fincantieri a Trieste, dove, oltre ad essere sottoposta ad operazioni di ordinaria manutenzione, sarà equipaggiata con nuova strumentazione per lo studio e l’esplorazione dell’intero ecosistema marino, tramite mappatura tridimensionale del fondale e campionamenti d’acqua e sedimenti.
In questi giorni, i tecnici ENEA si sono occupati della manutenzione della stazione meteorologica automatica che fornisce dati atmosferici (pressione, temperatura, umidità, vento e irraggiamento solare) e della configurazione dei sistemi informatici per la distribuzione dei servizi a bordo, come internet, mappe dei ghiacci e posta elettronica.
